FYI ON 223 CARB.
Some things are good on E-Bay, for our 1963 bought a NEW Carb. < NOT A REBUILT > from a company on E-Bay, installed and everything matched up good, its like a double pumper since it has 2 accelerator pumps one on each side of the carb. All I have to do was increase the idle with no other adjustments. First truck that even the choke works like it's suppose to. Company is based in Florida that sells all new carbs with all USA Parts and put together in the USA as well is what the advertise, ANYWAY Maybe this might help someone with a troubled carb on their 223

Was it Daytona Carbs? Just curious, everything I have gotten from them has been on point.6166 Junkyard Dog wrote:Some things are good on E-Bay, for our 1963 bought a NEW Carb. < NOT A REBUILT > from a company on E-Bay, installed and everything matched up good, its like a double pumper since it has 2 accelerator pumps one on each side of the carb. Re: FYI ON 223 CARB.
Cool. I’m still building a 223 for my 63. I rebuilt my carb with “Mikes Carburetor” parts a while ago but I haven’t touched a carb since 1999.
The months may change, but I am always APRIL

Re: FYI ON 223 CARB.
They are out of Jacksonville, Florida,, here below is the E-Bay listing... Now I have seen some trucks here in the yard with old Holley's so I cannot say what was on trucks from Factory since I really but I know the 63 we got in Kansas they installed a 300 6 cylinder carb, But the one they took off was sitting in the cab and it looked like the one they where selling except for the 1 accelerator pump on each side. I paid them a buy it now offer price of 200.00 with free shipping and looking back at their feedback I noticed they have sold several of these carbs so that's why I bought it.
Next chapter will be I found a Battery Top to go with a battery that fits in the original battery tray for the 61/64 trucks, coming soon on that

Re: FYI ON 223 CARB.
I have two Holley carbs from the two engines I had/have. One is a glass bowl (was on the rebuilt engine) and a different style on the engine that was in my truck.
I remember one is a 1904 glass bowl and the other is a 1940. The 1940 is what I rebuilt. I tried rebuilding the 1904 but dang it was messed up

Re: FYI ON 223 CARB.
yes I hooked up the choke and works just like it's suppose to, pull it out a little when it's cold and rev's up the engine,, Carb did not come with that screw that holds the cable on to that little swivel piece

Re: FYI ON 223 CARB.
Thanks for the tip! I was looking at those, but apprehensive of the source. My ‘62 has a newer carb off of (??). What do you run for your air cleaner?

Re: FYI ON 223 CARB.
I would run a Holley 1904 or 1940 over a ford 1100 any day. From personal experience the Holleys have been much more reliable, at least for me anyway.

Re: FYI ON 223 CARB.
Acting on advice in this very thread, I went to eBay, found the carb, shot them an offer of $200 and installed the carb on my 223 about two weeks later. Only adjustment it needed was to increase the idle speed a little. Nice product, easy switch-out. Solved a whole category of problems and potential problems.
Thanks for recommending the carburetor and the manufacturer!

Re: FYI ON 223 CARB.
OH Yes we had to increase the idle as well,, only adjustment,, on other thing we used a 58/59 Thunderbird battery top to hold the battery in place

Re: FYI ON 223 CARB.
Just for info. Been a few years ago now. There is a carb rebuilder just to the west side of the I-17 freeway on McDowell Road in Phoenix that does a wonderful job on carbs. That is where I got the glass bowl 1904 that I had on the 223 in my 62 Uni. At this time, I can't remember the name, but it was on he north side of McDowell in one of those places that has a bunch of business's under one roof.
