Fire loss

Post by unibody madness »

Allowed back into my place in Paradise California after the camp fire on the 8th of November.
The house/shop survived somehow, there is no reason visible as to what burned and what didn't.
I did suffer damage but the trucks I left behind survived with minor damage Two tires and a tail light lens on a parts truck.
My son however (Shenanigans) was not so lucky. Having just finished painting his, we pushed it out of the way for reassembly and put all his parts in an out building up against our property line a few days before. Both boys also lost everything at the condo they shared as well

This is all that's left. My tool shed was where workers dropped that pine tree.

The rims in the fore ground were in an out building, rubber and all, with all his parts, rug, seats, ect. needed for re assembly.
No detailed assessment yet, but radiator to bed front is laid bare.

Wow, does not look good at all for that truck. I'm sure your son is really bummed out. :(

Well not only did most of my "Stuff" survive, but yesterday the foundation crew showed up started mucking out the trenches that were ready to go the day of the fire, and began framing forms. I believe this makes me the first official rebuild in this terribly devastated area. kudos to all the first responders, PG&E, xfinity, and Cal water who have been amazing in getting services back on line .(note the glaring exceptions)

On another note I believe we have found a cab replacement for my sons truck even though its not a low roof it is a I beam cab that should fit, and it is within driving distance! More to come later

Yes Tom, a lot of them are being towed, hundreds if not thousands of collectable cars never made it out. Within a half mile of my place I have seen 40's area Willy's truck/wagons/jeeps, Rambler metropolitan,Ford and Chevy old iron, slicks and a few 1930 hot rods completely gutted.
There were a lot of folks chasing their auto dreams up here. it is hard to see.

the insurance auctions are just overstocked with them and even being sent to their places in the country as well, it's just so sad to see :(
