Gas tank sender ground question

Post by JeffinMooresville »

I have reinstalled my gas tank and reconnected the sender unit, however the ground clip does not appear to fit on the tab that i thought it connected to and i dont have a picture.

There is a tab there thta looks like the connector would connect, but it is a thicker metal and it does not look like the connector will fit.

Can someone verify that this is supposed to connect to this tab ? Or something else, perhaps the ground tab broke off. The tab is on the right in the photo with the connector hanging nearby, but not connected.

Yes...the connector spade should be on the tab on the sending unit. It will be somewhat a tight fit, but it should go on there.

If you have an old Slick control knob or switch of any kind chances are it has the correct size brass tab. Break it out, drill it and screw it to one of the sending unit screws.
