Hey everyone,
I'm searching for a Mallory distributor for a 240 or 300 Ford that has the mechanical tach drive on the distributor.
I know they made them at one time, but don't have a part number or a picture of this elusive critter.
Thanks for searching your parts bin, old parts trucks, or anywhere else you may see old distributors.

Re: Hen's Teeth
They used 300 fords in a LOT of things
I'm wondering if you might be able to find one
that was on an agriculture application
like a tractor / combine / swather .....
They also used them on irrigation pumps ,
Generators , welders etc etc ....

Re: Hen's Teeth
What Pat says is true. I drove a Pea Combine in 1975 that had a 300 six as it's power plant
It's a race.. Will hell freeze over or will JC finish his truck first. Stay tuned..
Re: Hen's Teeth
Thank you both, I will keep an eye out in this neck of the woods for old farm equipment, welders, airport tugs.

Re: Hen's Teeth
If the tach drive is the main thing that you are looking for, you could do the same thing I did to use a mechanical tach. I used a 90* 2 to 1 ratio reducer mounted to the front of the crank shaft driven by a split pin inserted into the balancer bolt. I could send you a picture if you like.

Koolkat, send a pic or post one.
