I have a chance to get a C4 tranny from a '68 Mustang.
I currently have an MX tranny in my '66 w/ a 352.
Is it worth my time and trouble to do a tranny swap?
I think the pros are that the C4 is not an orphan tranny (part are still available for upgrade/rebuild) whereas the MX is probably not as open for upgrade/rebuild.
The con is that the C4 might not be as durable in my truck (mainly weekend cruiser type usage) although I am not completely sure about this.
Also, what is entailed in doing such a swap? Bell housing, cross member, drive shaft, anything else???
Thanks!

I don't believe that there is a stock bell housing for a C-4 that will bolt to a FE engine. You will have better luck finding a C-6 transmission out of a car or truck. They are way stronger and more plentiful than a C-4. Plus no adapter is needed and maybe need to move the stock cross member just a bit.
