How did you finish out the back of cab when tank was removed

Post by Brian Patterson »

Been a long time since I've been on slick60's and the first time w/o Facebook. Probably been 3yrs since I've had Facebook. Glad to be back!!!

I've placed fuel tank in frame and removed cab tank. I have bucket seats so the rear of the cab is in plain sight. Would love to see what you guys did with the "new" area if you also moved your tank. Gunna have to come up with something to hide the back wall. (I'm too old to fill with speaker boxes and sub-woofers. :-D )

the later trucks that got the Ranger edition
had bucket seats , and they covered the tank
with carpet that matched the floor....

My grandpa had a 1975 F-100 with a pouch hung behind the seat. It was rugged like the seat cover with many storage compartments. It wasn't loose and wavy. That is what I plan to do in the 65 once I get the saddle tank installed.

I had planned to install a Ford factory behind the seat tool/storage box. (made for 67 - 72 trucks) but it will not fit without cutting cab bracing... So nothing besides some sound deadening material is back there so far...

Guess I'll have to buy a bump side for my storage box...

I put carpet on the back of the cab, stuck it to thin MDF for support. took it up to the rear window height and tucked it under the seal.... don't remember how to post pic's at the moment !
