What Slick60s Engine Transplants Have You Seen?

Post by chris401 »

I've seen Coyote and Cummins swaps. How about a Triton V-10 or Perkins 6.354?

Haven't personally seen a 6.8 V-10 in a Slick, but I'd expect by now, someone has done it.
I do know a local fellow who's in the middle of doing the 6.8L swap on a Bumpside ('71 XLT), and being as his last swap was the Lincoln 4.6L DOHC 32V into a '57 Ford SW, I expect the Bump will be nicely done:)

A quick YouTube search "Perkins Ford" will net you several from South of the border...
I believe we had an Ecoboost build here at one time...
Mention of a Mercedes build but never heard of the results...
I've heard talk of a 'two stroke' Detroit in a Ford...

How about something rare, 427 overhead cam side oiler...

I'd seen Martin's Perkins powered Crew Cab but no Slick60s. The 5" stroke would get the load moving.

The other Pat the farmer, slick 4x4 had a bump with a Detroit in it. Never saw it personally, but hear it was Cool and LOUD.
and of course there have been many many 350/350 combos in these trucks, sad as it makes me.

there are many, many good choices out there why waste your time on the lowest common denominator..

It's a race.. Will hell freeze over or will JC finish his truck first. Stay tuned..

I put a Briggs & Stratton 3.5 h.p. in mine. It will pull a house down the road in that granny gear . . .
