Get it done

Post by slick4x4 »

Darn key switch came “unglued” yesterday in the f600
Cutting soybeans , I don’t have time to fix it right
Managed to get it to power the coil
But nothing else ( gauges , wipers , turn signals )
Just hauling about 8 miles to the elevator
So just screwdriver the solenoid & away we go
No gauges … so Im a tad nervous …
but the old 262 has been running perfect
Came back to field , kill it in high gear & pull battery cable
Had to do this several times
Sometimes a fix needs to be done right
Sometimes a fix needs to be right now
.

We callstuff like that "voyage repair". When something needs an immediate fix to get you somewhere till you can get it fixed right lager..later... just don't let the voyage repair be permanent because then it's a Bubba mod.

In line with Shipwreck and Mr. Jones here. Seems for the most part NAPA is one of the places that still carries repair parts. Brushes, rehostats, miscellaneous bolts, power steering pump rebuild kits, ect. Seems replacing is the popular repair.

Beats being "stuck in Salina" with a two year old truck,a fifty year old ASE general cert, and no idea how to relate one to the other!
