Twelve years ago I learned how to drive in my '65 F100 Custom Cab Marlin Blue shortbed, 352/3 on the tree. Manual steering, manual brakes. Had an old man tell me if I could drive that, I could drive anything. The passion was started and I fell in love.
November of '97 driving my brother to the doctor some girl was waved out in front of me and I t-boned her. Worst feeling in the world was stepping out and seeing that perfect, hard to replace brushed aluminum '65 grill mangled.
Parts truck was bought, parts started switching to the other frame....and then life happened. Things got pushed aside and forgotten and I went 10 years with a hole in my heart missing my first love. Tearful trips to the F100 Supernats every year wanting so much to be a part with my '65 that sat at home in 12,000 pieces.
Bought a couple fullsize Broncos, one of which is sportin' a hot 429 and tried to fill the void, but it just wasn't the same. The lines, the aluminum trim, that steering wheel and dash...there's just something about a 65/66.
Then I found him. My new '66. It's not a '65 , it's not blue and doesn't have a 3 on the tree, but it's all original and unmolested and it's all mine.
Paid more than I wanted to for something that has primered fenders, but it's so original and straight I would be a fool to let it get away. It has the original owner's manual, the windshield fluid bag, oil bath air cleaner, radio, hubcaps, factory automatic and even the seat is complete with the vinyl embossed gear and lighting bolt. The bed looks like it's never had a thing in it - other than some scratches and surface rust.
So here he is.... '66 Custom Cab shortbed, 352 and an automatic. Black with a red and black interior.

I'll post up more pics once I get them, but it's currently at my brother's house so we can do some freshening up and get it reliable.
First plans include the disc brake I-beam swap, gotta get rid of those western truck mirrors, and paint the steelies black with some smoothie hubcaps.
So that's my intro.
