I get where they are coming from, New Mustang T shirts from companies not paying royalty and or getting permission to use the picture & name for one example.
However it doesn't pay them to mess with clubs, forums, etc in respect to calenders T-shirts & the like though. If it were not for Mustang junkies like me & others the Mustang would have probably died in favor of the Probe like they planned. There would have been no reason to build the 05 Mustang either. Being a member of a forum that has a huge 05 up following I can tell you that likely 90% of new Mustang sales are to loyal Mustang owners. Where would it be without us?
This absolutely applies to us here the same, I only went the Mustang direction because the Black Mustang group apparently got hit first. I know that at least a few members here have newer Ford trucks too, same thing.
Ford needs to stop harassing groups like them and us and remember where the loyalty that sells them NEW vehicles comes from. We should be supported by Ford not punished. I wouldn't be surprised if this was cooked up by one of their lawyers just so he can prove that he is needed, kind of like a government self justified job.
On a similar note, this started a few years ago in the model airplane hobby too. Model manufacturers are no longer allowed to make scale models of some planes for fear of lawsuit unless they pay license fee to the designer/manufacturer. Some others that are made get "renamed" for fear of copyright infringement. The government is even involved because of the US military designations as part of the plane's name! Mind you most of these are planes that haven't been produced for over 50-60 years! Almost no one who makes a WW 2 Lockeed P-38 Lightning model without license calls it that, they change the name somehow. Sad thing is a fair share of RC model kit makers are just small garage operations that can't afford this.
Lawyers out of control have nearly ruined this country and are getting worse. It used to be said that this country had the best legal system in the world, sadly it is becoming the opposite.

And now you really know that ford does not give a shit about your brand loyalty.

Your old truck or stang means jack to them. Only that you buy a new Truck..... Not keep your old obsolete non bound by chain and anchor for payments for five years.

Keep up the chevy hate....

As long as I can remember there has always been situations / topics like this. A club is a club and as long as a profit is not being made from the products with registered trademarks, there is not a problem.

"The New" Indian Motorcycle Company did the same thing to those of us who bought the 1999 and up Indian bikes...What a mess. We had an owners group and could not use the logos or other "property." Of course, Indian went bankrupt! Then a new guy bought the "intellectual property rights" so he could market cheap T-Shirts with the Indian Logo. He also told our group that we could not use "his" trademark! He hasn't built any bikes and probably won't but at least he's prevented us from producing any illegal club hats or shirts...

odd statement coming from me but i dont hate chevy, nor chrysler either, just always preferred fords with ford engines.truth is i would buy a 40 year old gm or chrysler product before i bought a new ford.(or anything else).

for the cost of a years car payment i could heat my house for several years.

i still cant figure out why anyone would buy something that loses value before the first payment is due?

as to ford not caring about brand loyalty, they are not alone. no big corporation does anymore.

No company seems to have loyalty to its customers or employees, but they tell you to be loyal and then they stab you in the back.

:iagree: with ya ICEMAN. I'm not going to buy anything new, just the old. My one and only new truck was a 1983 ranger 4x4.

Because I put over 20k a year on it and it wont leave me stranded in between jobs, plus its stronger than any old ford out there as well It is replaced if it ever got totalled ( unlikely ) without any change out of my pocket, Very comfortable, which is nice since I put so many miles on per year and I only pay 2 bucks per gallon to fill it up... I could go on and on and on as to why I bought a new Ford

I agree I would rather drive my slick then buy one of these plastic and coors beer can trucks they are making these days. You knoe that if you rub on a new car long enough you will find budweiser, coors, pepsi and coke names under the paint.

I know I'm in the minority here but, I gotta agree with ya Shawn, I put at least 25K a year and can't tell you how many cars I've put over 250,000 miles each on, without doing a whole lot to any of them. I love my old truck, I don't want to haul anything else with it except a cooler and lawn chairs and only commute is to a car show or cruise nite.
