dang crooks

Post by ICEMAN6166 »

got a letter from the postal inspector telling us that someone was found to have stolen mail from our box in their possession.
all the mailboxes are grouped together at various locations on the corners of side roads and the highway which cannot be seen other than by traffic driving by.
most of us never worried too much about losing stuff out of there before, but times have changed and now anyone can fall victim to this.
post office has no plan for secure mail, so its up to you to take care of it.
i had an immediate solution, went and got a PO box at the post office in town, now i get to pay $75 a year to keep my mail safe from others.not to mention all the work of calling a bunch of places to change my address so i can still get all those bills and all the other junk mail that comes with.i dont have time to sit down at the corner for the purpose of waiting for the delivery or looking for criminals stealing.

have not spoken directly to the postal inspector yet and i doubt they will cough up the name of those involved which is too bad as i have a nice little hatchet that i would like to use to slowly chop off their fingers ,one knuckle at a time.

Yep & so it goes with a ton of other freedoms we've been enjoying all our lives...slowly but surely being limited or removed all together, thanks to the unscrupulous greed & plain disrespect to fellow man by others with no conscience.

Ice when the highway was rebuilt here all of the mail boxes were moved to one central location. The usps put up a locking multi mail box up. Kinda like in front of apartments. Would they do something like that? Like this one.

Tom,
that is what i would like to see but i doubt seriously anything will be done. post office here is already closed on Saturday because of lack of funding. meanwhile the government is wasting trillions on BS instead of taking care of business where it should be.......

our neighbors actually have just a locking single mailbox. Its much like those apartment ones, except its just their box.

it only has a letter sized slot in it, you cant get in it from the front and the only way to open it is with a key from the back.

The only drawback is that you cant stick the flag up to send mail out, and any packages you have to pick up at the postoffice. But I guess if you had a PO box you'd have to do that anyway.

man that sucks. a few years ago some prick stole a check out of my gma's mail box, on a quiet side street, in front of her house, in tucson. Washed off the part that said tucson water or whatever, and took it to Albertsons. The surprising part is that they didnt also wash the amount. They bought like $30 worth of groceries...

It pisses me off, basically any store doesnt check credit card signatures, nor ID for checks anymore... I worked at Albertsons for 2 years in HS, people would actually get Pissed when we asked for ID (but it was only the first time they wrote a check- from then on they were clear... Or the prick with the stolen check was also clear to go....)

Maybe his Mom didn't like the color Orange either. Thought it was sickly funny though that they stick him in an orange jumpsuit in the pokey.
