Karaoke anyone?

Post by Hoofbeat Racer »

If anyone remembers my original avatar here, it was a picture of the King. No, not Richard Petty, but Elvis of course. There is a bit of a karaoke junkie in me and just wondering if there is any interest in anyone else belting out a few tunes after a hard day of cruising? whistle.gif

me too.

I went to Red Deer with my boss one time on a homebuilder's training course. He had the co. credit card, and we drank enough scotch that night to sink the Titanic. He then convinced me to get up on stage with him, but he was laughing so hard he just about wet himself.

The point? I am 20 years older now, and my wife carrys a marble rolling pin. I seriously doubt I could even drink enough to do that again, but even if I could, my wife would have long since crushed my skull in with the pin Image
Guess you are on your own, good luck assembling the Elvii :rocker:

How about a "Slick Stock Chorus"?

I have the perfect song:

Sing to the tune of Do-Re-Me-Fa-So-La-Ti-Do from Sound of Music.

Dos, a beer, a Mexican Beer
Ray, the guy behind the bar
Me, the guy I buy beer for
Far, a long way to the bar
So, I think I'll have a beer....
La, la la la la la la (sing as if drunk)
Tea?, No thanks, I'll have a beer
And that brings us back to Dos, Dos Dos Dos

repeat until laughing hysterically......

Karoake to me is a spectator sport.
If you continue to buy imports, where will your children work?

In deep south Texas we shoot karaoke singers first and if they don't die, we beat them to death with there own boom box! So, I guess I would have to say I am not interested, but thanks anyway. Lyman.

Now, we may be exposing some cultural differences here. Its true, karaoke is not popular amoung straight males in the USA in general. Guess the Canadians are not completely the same as us...... (not meaning to suggesting anything about "orientation" if you know what I mean)

I am actually a pretty decent singer (church choir etc.) but indeed, karaoke somehow rubs me the wrong way.

Interesting......

Oh well, my offer to lead a Slick Stock Chorus stands, as long as its a good ole' drinking song.....

Guess we could open with the national anthem, but then I'd need to learn the words for "O Canada". Come to think of it, we'd need to deal with the New Zealand issue as well. It appears, they have two national anthems, more or less, "God Defend New Zealand" and "God Save the Queen" both... Hmmmm

How about "Home on the Range"? That's Kansas State song and I am a born Kansan

OK, just jokeing here, though I am sure that Mark started the thread innocently enough.....

later...

Doc herman.. you are right about the cultural differences. It ain't gay men singing karaoke in Canada, but it's usually Asian ones... Guess Mark ate rice for supper.
