it took me over a tank of gas to get to K.C. from home and I got back home on a bout a half a tank. Carb made a bIG difference..............Darrell

Two tanks and three carbs going down, and only one tank coming back is pretty good.

Too many tankfuls to count. Got 12.5 to 14.5 towing the Tbird.

That verifies much about what I have been told about the Carter YF versus Autolite 1101 carbs.

My fancy rebuilt 1101 (Ponycarbs, the fellas that rebuild concours carbs for the Mustangs) is getting about 10 mpg around town. I don't put enough miles on it to matter, but it seems to be the Carter YF is a better choice for a 240/300, unless you are looking for bleeding edge original equipment......

Glad to hear the YF got you home and with a few less gallons to boot!!!

Perhaps power brakes, 300 I6 motor and JUST maybe, AC!

Guy, I will send a E with all the details of the carb nitemare. I am really happy with what I ended up with. The store I got the one from here in Iowa I talked to them today and told me to just bring back the one I bought and had problems with.................Kid
