Ford Door locks

Post by ivaf100 »

Can anyone help me with this problem. My daughter bought a 2006 Taurus and it didn't have a keyless remote with it. I purchased one and followed the programing directions but it won't work. I checked on keylessride.com and they say all '06 Taurus's have keyless entry. I checked the fuse, the locks work with the button on the door. I turned the switch off to on 8 times in 10 sec. to get in program mode, there is a beep but the locks don't lock and unlock like they are supposed to. All late model Fords are supposed to be the same. If anyone can help, I would sure appreciate it.

I would start with the obvious...(you probly did this)

check the battery in the remote. Then the power to the module/recever.

I can tell you for sure that not all late model Fords program the same way. I recently did a Mustang and after tearing my hair out following the directions, I got my hands on a shop manual and found out that there are something like 6 different Ford programing systems in use. After carefully reading the Ford manual I found out that I had to push a button on the BCM. Hawkrod
