not cool JC...we are a family site
zacgosteli,
we need a little more info. 2x4 or 4x4? If it is a 2x4 then you have the single-I and it could be a little more complicated than you might like.
There was talk at one point about wheter or not a lowered single-I for the 50's fords would work, but I don't remember what the conclution was.
since you have front leaf springs you can use a lot of the same tricks as you would use on the rear, re-arced springs, reverce eyes, droped shackles, etc... I don't think the axle flip will work on the front because of problem with the stearing linkage.
othe methods are, Aerostar IFS, Crown Vic IFS, Dakota IFS and MII IFS. These are all more $ and not all that easy.
some of the straight axle guys will chime in here soon.
good luck with your truck, and welcome to the group!

I have a 66 f-100 2x4 and wanted to lower it as well. After doing some research I found the best option for me was buying a new lowering kit. I got mine from:
http://www.canuckmotorsports.com/
So what they also do is they put there lowering kits on e-bay for about $100 less then what their site lists them for.
http://stores.ebay.ca/Canuck-Motorsports
The kit I got was well worth it. Came with the i-beams, hangers, king pins all the hardware.... I got it for $650... Now that might not be the cheapest by any means, but it was the best option for me...

I'm in the process of lowering my '61 right now. I think I can do this for about $600. I am having the front axle dropped ($450) and doing a spring under conversion in the rear. Mine already had the spring eye reversed in front. I also bought tie rod drops ($140), but I think I might need to do something with the tie rod because I'll need a bit more drop. We'll see and figure that out when I get the axle back. Oh, I guess I'll need new shocks too, and I didn't include that, but even if I wasn't lowering, they needed replacement.
Anyway, my estimate is about a 5" drop or so including the spring eye reversal already done.

We also sell thre Mono-Leaf Springs, But not here to push them Anyway before you jump into it there is 2 sets of springs,,, One set has the standard eyes which can lower the truck down say 2 inches or with the reverse eyes on the mono-leaf springs from 4-6 inches & this depends on size of powerplant on front or rear, also on the rear you can relocate the front of the spring hanger by raising up but remember tooooo low & will have to C-Notch the frame & also if lowering please remember to make sure the shocks still have plenty travel area so they do not bottom out ... Any normal parts houses have a book of shocks showing both ends so you can match up one with your same ends
