Oh, is the the old springs on the hinges thing?

Garbz and I found out that that was another mid '64 change too. He has one without, I have one with springs on the hinges.
It's a race.. Will hell freeze over or will JC finish his truck first. Stay tuned..

Cool, that's a great little tidbit-o-info to know! Got that one burned into the 'ol memory bank. :thumright:

Part 2- is this something to do with the floating gas pedal? changed 1/2 way thru '64 according to the LMC catalogue?

Probably 1/2 way through 65. My 65 has got the bottom pivot style & my 66 has the floater.

I see why they changed them too, the bottom pivot style gets stiff after a while & can actually make the engine idle high... especially in cold weather.

If it starts to rain, they'll tax the splash.
If you want to fish, they'll tax the bass.
If you plant a yard, they'll tax the grass.
If you don't play nice, they'll fine your *$#!

after the heater vent warms it up its usually ok.a stronger spring did not help much.

I stand corrected. See, that's how easy it is.
Oh, I could go on and quote Mercury part numbers, and tell you about how I once read and remember the entire Ford archives :bs: but I will dispense with that, and admit I was wrong

My 62 doesn't have a cleanout plug below the hinge, 64 does.

But didn't we cover that one before?

Johnny I thought you would get a kick out of that , Really all joking aside for the answet you would have to have at least a 61 or 62 or 63 cab & or any of the 4,5,6 cabs to see the difference & its very noticeable
