Hello , I'm in the foothills of NC. This is my first post. I am getting a 61 Unibody truck from a friend. The truck has no engine or trans . The front axle and springs are also missing , which suits me just fine. I intend to install a ifs.The rearend housing is still under the truck , but the gears and RH axle shaft are gone. Still not a problem for me ,because I intend to use a T-Bird irs.I can get a Aerostar ifs for almost nothing , so that's probably what I will use up front. My daily driver is a 56 F100 with volare type ifs. I have been driving it for over a year with no problems. I've done the volare swap several times now , and want to do something different this time.I would like to do something different for an engine this time too. I'm thinking inline six and automatic, maybe a 240.Thanks.

Welcome to the forum. I'm in charlotte, a little southeast of you I guess.

How are you planning on doing the T-bird rear install? I have a 91 bird that I got as a donor, been trying to decide what to do with the remains.

wave.gif Welcome from good ol' West Virginia. I like the idea af keeping a six in the truck. I am quite fond of the 240/300's.

Thanks guys.I would be interested in the T-Bird rear.I could drive to Charlotte to get it.I am about 15 miles from I-40 at exit 113.I drove my 56 to the show at Pigeon Forge last month. My truck is red and has a "swampcooler" hanging on the door. Was anyone else on here there?I have relatives in and around Beckley WV.Thanks.
