I am thinking about a gasket around the taillight. I did leave a small gap between the trim and the paint so I hope to not have any rubbing on the paint. I just finished this late tonight and I was getting tired, so I will look at it more tomorrow and see what I think. If I need a gasket, I have figured to use the rubber that is supposed to go around the instrument insert.

Here is what's been done recently. The bed cover showed up on Friday. I got it mounted today to see how it fits and it does very well. I will get it all adjusted and then take it back off to finish prime and then off to the painters. There is a bump in the middle at the back that I don't know why it is there. Maybe it is for their logo to go on after paint. I am not going to leave it. I will grind it off smooth and reglass that part before priming.

The grill is in the truck now. The bumper should be back this week from getting the proper curve put in it and rechroming. This is the way that the new bumper fit before.

This project is finally coming all together. I am working on the tilt forward hood but I am not quite done with it yet. I hope to have that done and installed within the next couple of weeks.

It won't be long now.

Nice Kevin!!! are you leaving it a solid color or do you have trim or maybe a pinstripe to go down the side?? Your truck is really looking sweeeeet!! keep up the nice work and keep your updates coming, you know we look forward to the builds with the pics...

Truck is looking awesome. Is there a thread that shows your front and rear suspension somewhere? Also who makes that bed cover?

I met a guy at the Super Nationals this weekend that had a 68 f100. He had fabbed up some tilt hood hinges for his. Looked pretty cool. I took a couple of pics of them but have not located my camera since we got back home.

seeing your bed cover reminded me of something I found on youtube. This guy built his own bed cover on an S-10, BUT he installed remote controlled actuators to lift the cover. What I like about this set up is....no handles or locks. The actuators keep the lid closed tight. I don't especially like how he has them mounted. I would like to do something like this on mine when I get to that point. Would be cool to have these actuators on a tilt hood also.

I have my tilt hood done I think. I need to test fit it one more time on azratrods truck and then off to powdercoating with the parts.
I did think about actuators for the hood but I have way to much time in this already. Maybe a project for the future.

Red, post the pics when you find the camera. I would like to see how they did that one.

My tonneau cover is from Gaylord's Lids. They are the only ones that I found that make an over the bedrail covers for our trucks. I do have some 12V actuators out of a hospital bed that I thought about using on the bed cover but they are too bulky to use. I did wire the alarm so that I can can put some actuators on later and use the alarm keypad.

rickrob16, My first show is going to be the F100 Western Nationals in the Anaheim area. I sent my registration in so I hope I can get the truck done. I should make it but probably with less than 100 miles on it.

I am finally back to post some pic. I have the bed inside finished now.
I put marine carpet on the interior of the bed with the side boxes to use for storage.


I then put a piece of plywood with 1x1 square tubing under it for support over the middle of the bed. I plan to use this for the spare tire, lawn chairs and hopefully it's high enough to put my awning under this so it will be out of sight.

I had the carpet on the tailgate bound on the edges to finish it. I left the carpet long so that it will cover the gap between the tailgate and the bed.
The bed cover is painted now and installed on the truck.
The contact switch on the passenger side is for the third brake light in tailgate.

Doesn't affect me - I zoom in & out constantly. Hold ctrl key & roll the wheel on the top of my mouse. If you don't have a wheel mouse, hold ctrl & hit + or - to zoom in & out respectively.

I picked up the tires the end of last week. I put Hankook 275/55R/17 on the back and 235/60R/17 on the front. The front is sill sitting a slight bit high in the front because it is still sitting on the floor jack.

The rear tires filled up the fenderwell really well. I couldn't get any bigger without hitting the fenders or the inside fenderwells.

They look a whole bunch better that the rubber band tires that were on the wheels before.
I'm getting really close to getting insurance and license plates.
