Pretty sweet deal on the shop.
Now you know that there is no place to stop on the truck. It just keeps multiplying on what more you can do. But it is worth it when it's done.

i do plan on painting the frame, painting the underside as best as possible, and redoing the front and rear brakes, mounts and bushings. I have about $1200 set aside to get it to a mix matched exterior driver status. then body work and paint the following year.
smartly done I should make it since the engine and tranny are fine, doors are good, fenders are good, and frame is solid.

small update. I've opted to buy this cab from Cape Cod and stick with my 65.im going to save a little money and just keep it on the same frame. I kicked around the idea of a 77 frame swap, but i wanted a bed that looked right more than i wanted power steering and disc brakes, and kinda wanted to keep it all together.

anyway, im getting it this weekend weather permitted. then having it sandblasted so i can start to do metal work on it and see what i have. I do see lots of spray primer around many holes like where the hinges go and along the dash, but maybe they did that as a preventative measure??

uncut dash

looks like "open door light" switches on each door jam

good cross supports and corners

good floor (i hope)
Image

solid mounts (i hope)

got some floor to patch

woohoo!

Looks like you will have some work to do, but not a bad start at all.

the owner said it was pretty solid so i hope outside of the bad area I can clearly see, i hope it's worth the $350-400. it's as good as I can find on the east coast.

I'd say that's a pretty fair price Gregg.
Not much to fix at all on it. You can cut the one off your truck up for patches.
You do know you can upgrade the steering & brakes on the frame you have.
Glad you are settled on a plan and are fixing the truck.

I admire your spunk! I don't know if I would have the guts to try to replace my roof, but then again, I've never done body work before either.

Ouch. That hurts. I think that you are right that a roof swap will be easier than trying to repair that.

Wish you were closer, I'd give you a dozen GPS coordinates for all the slicks I've seen just waiting for someone to take them in and bring them back to life.
