I don't think that Ford ever planned on having this much stuff in these trucks, especially an electronic controlled climate control system.
Much less P/W & P/DL.

Gotta love the Climate Control - our Fusion has it. When I had my 66 short wide I had planned to do/dad the heck out of it too, pretty far cry from my Uni's plan.
Kevin, who says you need alot of chrome on a scoot?

Greg, My wife likes the chrome on it and she looks good riding it. She has threatened to take pics of it so that I don't start swapping parts onto mine. I would never do that, unless I thought I could get away with it.

I used the American AutoWire Highway 22 kit. It is fairly simple to install. I have all the time in mine from all the accessories that are going in it. I used this one because I wanted to be able to terminate at the fuse panel insead of going the other way. I had to leave out some of their wires and add some in for the gauges and others.

I think those Pearl White bikes look better all chromed up more than almost any other color.
I like the Black Cherry with alot of chrome too although there is a guy a few blocks from here with an older Night Train that looks real good in the Black Cherry. I may gotten one if the color was still available on them in 09. My 06 Sporty was Black Cherry, really liked the color on it too.
I can't wait to see your truck all done, looking great. Heck by the time you add all the goodies you'd be able to put Lincoln badges on it!
Hmmm.

Here are a couple of upated picsof where I am at.
I made these aluminum plugs to hold the a/c lines in place. They are held in place by a snap ring on the back side. The lines weren't supposed to be crossed but the guy that bent them and silver soldered them missed my pattern by a little bit.
Image
I put the a/c & heater hoses under the fender wells to keep them out of sight. I have the wiring done in looms now but haven't mounted them until I get the fenders on.(hopefully soon)
Image
I am scheduled for upholstery the middle of August. I hope that I can make that but I am afraid that I will have to push it back a couple of weeks.

I am still making progress. I mounted the stereo box overhead because it wouldn't fit due to where I mounted the a/c.
Here is the box as it started.
Image
Here it is after I modified it. I didn't like the way that it looked with the square edge at the windshield side.
Image
Image
I made the extension out of ABS plastic and glued it all together.

Since I decided to put my A/C controls where the radio cut-out is on mine, I'm still trying to figure out where to put a radio. I like this idea and especially the way you did this - nice and clean.

I'll bet you start shaking a little when you get around that fresh paint with a drill bit or welding torch!

Looks nice Kevin. Where did you get your a/c & heater bulkhead? do you mind sharing how much it cost? I want to put an underdash a/c in mine and would like to figure that out now while I got it stripped down.

I like your overhead radio mount, and the extension. What did you use to get the profile at the windshield header area? Just wondering how it might match up with any future headliner.

dotcentral - I got the bulkhead fitting from www.yogisinc.com about 8-10 years ago when I built my 29 Ford Sedan Delivery and didn't use it there. I don't remember the cost. I kept it all these years and finally used it.
I am having the upholsterer build the headliner and bring it down to connect at the windshield. It should work out right.
The extension on the box was made out of flat ABS plastic and cut to fit. I made L-brackets out of ABS and glued them to make it all solid. The bottom was cut and heated to bend it into shape. Then I used bondo to fill and shape the round edges.

Thanks for the info.

I have friends that used a plastic marine stereo housing, like yours, under the dash. That seems like a target for low-lifes, plus I am wanting an underdash A/C, so would be hard to have both. I had been thinking about using an I-pod type contraption for a hidden music system to keep my dash uncut. Mounting it overhead is an option I might think about as well after seeing yours.

I am going to use an I-pod hookup with the stereo instead of a CD changer. I'm glad that you mentioned that because I had forgot all about running that wire down by the seat to hook to the I-Pod
Thaks,

Great progress so far. I have the old AM in the dash. Plan to leave it in place. I am going to build a custome console between the bucket seats and mount the stereo there. Will likely make a slider or cover of some type to keep it hidden.

I got the insulation put in this week. When jobs aren't ready for me, I can get a lot done on the truck(don't make any money though).
Image
I put 2 layers of FatMat onthe floor to deaden the noise and insulate.
Image
I then put 2 layers of automotive insulation on the inside of the roof and the back of the cab. It should be enough insulation.
I have all the wiring done now.
I have new D.C. door seals and some other parts ordered from Tom, so when they show up, I can get the doors hung and get the windows in.
Upholstery is set for middle of August.

Alan, that column came out of an early 80s Camaro. It was the right length, tilt wheel and it matches real close to the IDIDIT columns(but way cheaper). That car didn't have column shift. This one has the cruise and the wipers on the turn signal which is what I wanted(nothing extra on the dash).
