Your grass is green, getting a little rain are you? Nice place Greg, I am sure you will enjoy it.

Me too, I'm already painting that house in my mind and putting a nice fence around that joint.

The house was for sale on a contract or rent.
I am renting for now just to get in and after a couple things are paid off/refied I will buy it - I want a 10 year loan so the payment will be higher than the rent.
No fence please Max - feel too fenced in now. The white siding is fine - could use some color on the trim though.
The little John boat is parked on the 2 car wide cement pad next to the garage.
Since the river is flooding out all her family had to pull their boats up to town and they didn't want to get the Sheriff's attention with them all on one lot. I told her they can keep it there as long as they need - I won't be using the space for awhile.
Yard isn't really that big - ends right behind the garage. Just a self propelled should do.
Eban; you are worrying me.
Funny note,
the Fremont / Mills County line runs through Tabor.
So if you are in the north side of town you register your stuff in Mills County and if you are on the South you register in Fremont County.
I will be in Fremont County.

Has a 1/2 basement - walls appear to somewhat recent so if it had foundation problems they have already been dealt with.
Since the garage presently has no heat, insulation, etc. I'll be storing paints & other chemicals in the basement to keep them at a reasonable temperature.
Got my Electricity account all taken care of today - will be turned on 7-1. Water is taken care of just need to leave a small deposit in the drop slot at the city offices my next trip down. Need to see if my landlord can pick up my internet box at the city building for me so I don't have to leave work early just to grab that.
Gas will be an issue - they want a positively ridiculous deposit because the previous people ran the heat real high and had huge bills. I told the gas company "I am not them" but they don't care. I'll figure it out.

Now is the time to buy if you can. That place looks great.
I should be moving into my debt-up-to-my-eyeballs soon - I'm in the process of buying my first place. It has an attached 2 car garage, but there's room in back to build when I'm ready.

I agree with Charlie it is a buyers market now if you have the cash or the Credit.

It's really quite simple John.
Looking for a simpler life and some peace.
I go for rides down this area anyway so that works out too.
I also will be closer to church which is Glenwood, 13 miles from my new home - 20 miles and a dollar toll each way where I am.
I went down and paid my deposit today. I may start moving sooner so I don't have to jamb it all in one weekend and she is cool with that.

Greg, we "budget" our bills... you still have to poay the deposit but the monthly bill will be budgeted over a 12 month period of the PO... usually after 1 year they will redo the budget and credit what you over pay...... I know it don't help with the deposit right now but it might be the "glass half full" way to look at it so it don't hurt too bad.... I like the small town also... just not for me, give me my side of the hill in the holler....

Deposit is what it is............
This is a pretty big cash outlay for me inside of a 30 or so period is all.
It's also utility deposits, will have to license all 4 of my vehicles and switch my CDL to Iowa within 30 days too. I can't really leave 2 of them wait either because then it would cost me too much in time off work to run down to Sidney twice.

Well, here we go.
The big move will be this weekend!
The 64 will go down tomorrow after work,
I will be bringing a cube van home tomorrow that one of the other guys has - he doesn't use it on the weekend and all my big stuff will go in it,
I will take it over to my parents tomorrow night so they can load their stuff in it while I run my route and we'll stop by here and fill the rest with what I can't get loaded tomorrow (I can't stay up too late - have to work Sat).

Mid 60's was about 9 pm last night, it was in the high 70's mid day and probably 45 degrees this morning at 5 am. We get big swings here from early morning to mid afternoon, I sure like living where it cools way down at night, makes sleeping much easier.
