Those Aussie Roo catchers would be a blessing to protect against the deer here, if only they weren't so Uuugly. Do they come in a stealth model? The deer had become a major problem here in my part of the state. I know and have known many folks that have had major car damage some were even had the vehicles totaled out from running into deer! I,myself have had three encounters, I killed a 12 pointer with 71 Dodge Charger, Charger got minor damage to the top of the drivers side fender. Second encounter I was driving back to Rome from Calhoun in a 68 Dodge Coronet at or maybe a bit above the speed limit when I saw what at first I thought was a large dog running down the inside median of a four lane Hiway. I had already started slowing down when the deer suddenly ran in front of my car. I locked up those old drum brakes and was already started ducking down behind this dash thinking this would not be good. I saw the deer drop below my field of vision and was expecting that any second I would be hearing the sound of bumper grille and hood being damaged! Then I saw a shadow seemingly fly over the windshield. There was a couple with a small (pre teen) child that was about 50 yds behind me that began flashing his headlights so I pulled over (almost needed to shake my britches leg out any way) The kid was overexcited "that deer jumped over your car" all big eyed. The dad said I sure was lucky, started to tell him maybe, but my shorts weren't, and would have if his wife and kid weren't with him. Coronet 0 deer 0 both let unscathed. My final encounter I was going to work before daylight just 30 yds from my driveway when I saw a deer running to cross the road was driving a 86 Ranger missed the first one but another one running behind the first ran into my door. It ran away and with the assistance of a plumbers help popped the dent right out so this encounter was a draw too!
Sorry to ramble on so, those Roo catchers just trigger some old memories I thought I would share.

Gotta agree with Obsa, those Roo bumpers would sure come in handy to keep the deer from destroying your ride.
Luckily I have not had an encounter like him. Hope it stays that way. TR

TR, I really have got off easy compared to other folks I know. The Ranger door just popped out using the plunger. The Coronet could have had a bad ending I was lucky. On the Charger incident I was 22yrs. old and had spent way too much time at a Tavern about 2 miles beyond a local college. My first thought was that I had somehow hit a student walking home from the tavern. I immediately pulled over expecting the worst! A man in a jeep stopped also, asking if I wanted the deer. I was so glad to see it was not a student, and said nope it is yours if you want it. Kinda of shown a new light on the dangers of driving under influnce. mostly always found a ride or limited my consumption after that!

Those utes are what we call!,' B and S utes", or Bachelor and Spinster Ball utes, they are mostly westie guys ( from the western suburbs) that build these over the top utes and go to B&S balls out in the bush. The balls are held so young people from the bush can have a chance to meet up with other young people, as where they live is so remote, and there aren`t many people close by. they are open to all who want to come, and are a bit of a drunken orgie that last most of the weekend.
