changeing motor and trans

i have a 65 short bed and i am wanting to put a 351w and auto trans in it i know i need to change the motor stands but do i need to do about the trans cross member

Usually, you should be able to use the stock crossmember. You may have to move it depending on which transmission you use. Just drill a new hole in the frame to bolt the crossmember and you are done.
If you drove a Ford, you wouldn't need a good wrench!
