Mirrorproblems

Post by chiquita »

The Slick i bought was 99% complete. There are no mirrors. But the car was just painted and the mirrors is totally gone. The problem is that there are a lot of holes in the door and I´m not sure if the holes are for the original mirrors. Anyone got good pics of them? A small problem but really anoying.

Also misses sunshields and inner mirror. :(

Thank you :) . That site was like heaven for me. But here are some smal holes to. Maybe from some kind of truckmirrors. Think its real ugly to have 2 mirrors. :?

Sounds like the previous owner didn't want to see anything in the past & wanted the sun on his face at all times.

Here is a scan from a book that I have with some other style mirrors. I`ll think it is from a -66 catalog. Scan is a little blurry, but I hope you get the pict.

I just put a set of west coast mirrors on mine, I love the view. The kids at church noticed them and said "Hay, you have mirrors Like Matter". Cool

If the holes are surrounding the standard square hole where the factory mirrors normally came, then it was probably from other mirrors that the previous owners had put on. These trucks are quite old and we had a thread on here or possibly the old site once where everyone posted all of the unique, strange and downright retarded things that were on their trucks when they bought them.

Otherwise the holes could be from trim or emblems maybe...?

Maybe this is a better picture?

[albumimg]1482[/albumimg]

You can see that the bracket the mirror is attatched to goes through the square hole.

It had a set from the late 80's that I hated. it has had I think every type of mirror there is on it as it has 6 holes on each door plus the big square hole for the factory. I bought new mirrors at Atwoods used holes that were already there to mount them.

I added photos in my gallery

Looks like the holes are plugged where the factory square mount came out.

They sell an "Universal" mirror. I think my son's 63 has a universal driver's door as it has over 20 holes in it. Seems that poor door has had more accessory changes than you see at a Britney Spears concert.
