Vote for the day of your choice. Keep in mind that we will have a better chance of good weather in November.

I am coming

Post by bluebolt »

I am still planning on coming.

Michelle, any kind of schedule of events so far? Need to plan my trip. Looks like I am dropping off a load of pallets in Houston on Friday. Guy says he will pay for my gas both ways.

The only schedule of events is to come, have fun, talk trucks, eat, have fun, talk trucks, talk trucks, eat some more, talk trucks, did I mention talk trucks?

I'm planning on stopping in. I can't bring the uni yet but the highboy is up for the drive. What time do festivities begin?

Also, how do you get to Riverbend Park. I know how to get to Smithville just not sure where the park is.

Max, that is a great map. I was going to post one, but I do not think I could get any better than the one you posted. The map is dead on. The park is easy to find, if you are going west bound toward Austin the park is on the right side of the road just as you cross the river. If you are east bound turn right just before the river and U turn under the bridge and you can go right into the park.

I was once told by my old boss and friend, retired USAF Col. Ben Benham, when you give directions, give them as if you were putting bombs on a target. Can't go wrong with that I suppose!

Ruth.
We're meeting at the Denny's in Katy.
Take the Katy Mills Mall exit off I-10 west and go under the freeway (coming from Houston)
Most of us will be there by 8 for a quick bite to eat before heading out.
Everyone is welcome/ there's safety in numbers [and these old trucks attract a lot of attention on the highway].

Great time

Post by bluebolt »

I had a great time at the Texas get together. Great friends, trucks and great food too. Lots of thanks due to our "Yellow Rose of Texas" host Michelle. Your big truck was awesome. Weather was a little colder and wetter than we wanted but still had a great time. I was so busy talking to people I forgot to take pics LOL.

This was a couple of years ago (non-Slickstock year of 2009). We were all pretty much emailing at the same time so when you look at this post, it does seem very vague.

We'll definitely post all of the information if/when another one is put together! The more the merrier!!
