i just bought a 1965 f 100 stepside. 300 6 cyl, 3 on the tree. theres a plaque on the dash that shows it was built for the u.s army. is it worth more because it is an army truck or not. if so will it hurt the value if i dont put back to army specs.
thanxs army 65

That is really a tough question. Depends on what YOU want the truck for.
Personally, I'd build it the way you want and save the build tag. I doubt it would hurt the value no matter what you do with it.
Just a thought.

I'm not arguing with you. I'm just explaining why I'm right.

Me personally I would try to keep it orginal as possible but I have a 65 4X4 and I could have kept it orginal but I didn't did not have the title to the truck have got that straight but its has a new tag on the door that the state put on to match the vin on the frame. Also changed engine from 352 to 390 and changed cabs put a 63 cab on and it should have been a 64 cab. I personally like the 63 cab more than the 64 cab. And I also changed the bed to a 64-66 bed where it should've had a 59-60 or 63 bed on the truck. If its a complete truck and everthing it there and not rusted away don't change it. All my parts where rusted too bad cab, bed.

all the government trucks have that unless it was removed sometime after it was sold to a private individual.really nothing special about the truck itself usually other than when they were new and used by the government they got regular maintenance and inspection.
mostly they were green or blue, and a lot of them were stepsides and some with crewcabs.
