So what's simpler than a plain jane F100?
a bicycle!
however, helmet laws may apply...
how about an old mustang? will insurance companys still see it as a sports car? what if it had a straight 6?

Wal-Mart shopping carts are always an option.
The big ones.
However, be gentle on the casters. They can be pricy if you have to replace them................... nah, just get another cart.
Wait a minute. You fell out of the tree raking the leaves????
Doc, get a grip.
You're supposed to wait til the leaves fall out of the tree before you rake them.
Hope the foot feels better.

I would suggest a falcon or fairlane with a straight six. A dodge dart 4 door straight six(2 doors are too expensive). any small economy cars from the 60's. You can usually pick up the 4 door cars pretty cheap. If you look for a good 2 door the price is usually high. Another F100 is definatley an option. Trucks are always easier to work on than cars. No jacking it up to change the damn oil. ever remove a driveshaft from a car without jacking it up? its a pain in the A$$! No jacking required for trucks. Trucks are great! I did the clutch job on my 2wd F100 without even jacking it up.

You guys...
Doc, how 'bout a VW bug? Can't think of an easier car to maintain. AC is not an option though - in AZ I'd get one with a sunroof.
You can still find them derelict, and most parts are available aftermarket. Tons of info online. They're a blast to drive in town, but probably not a good bet on the interstate.

as a former bug owner,vw thing owner and dune buggy builder the only thing wrong i ever found with a vw was the poor heat.not an issue for you i know.Detroits attempt at a rear engine air cooled car failed thanks to Mr.Nader, but i owned a corvair and its just a 6 cylinder wide bug, had no problems with it either and the 6 put out a little more heat.
Mrs.Iceman and i are also not willing to have anything new for the same reasons you listed.i have owned 3 new vehicles in my life all fords and they all had problems, and i sold all of them before they were 2 years old.last time was in 93, since then it has been strictly bumpside and slick except for the 80 lincoln which i decomputered and filled up a trash barrel with garbage.ran good with the carb and regular intake but its illegal to do that , a federal crime in fact.
we sold it when the $140 dealer only headlight switch started going bad.
no hassles with the old stuff, thats why i got the fairlane,it will make a nice summer car when i get around to fixing the minor things it needs.
