I am not so sure about the water based paints.
Any of you seen a 90s Chrysler or GM with an otherwise nice paint job that has sections that are flaking? - waterbased paint. I am sure the technology has improved but how much?
I considered Auto Air Colors for awhile for a 66 short I had. They are supposed to spray wonderful. They also are supposed to blend excellently. Street Rodder did a review on them some years ago and they were VERY impressed. That doesn't tell you how they hold up though.

I used Magic brand tractor paint sold by the Rural King stores a couple of years ago . it always sets outside,so its getting a chalky look. If you park it inside as much as possible it might hold up longer.

Boeing has been using water based paint for years you don't see paint peeling on them. They have the process down pretty good. Would be interesting to know who their paint supplier is.

These people have some excellent prices.
They also have a choice of ;
Acrylic Enamel
Acrylic Laquer
Acrylic Urethane
Base / Clear
Pretty good FAQ too
and a # for questions.
They do NOT mix colors though.

Here's a link to a photo of my paint job using rattle can tractor paint from the local Cal Ranch supply. Worked great and held up great for the 3-4 years I drove it. The red was the factory paint I just painted the flame job over top.

Dang, that's a nice crew cab!! I've got a new Superduty Crew Cab, be nice to have slick to match it for the hell of it.

I plan on painting my Unibody, I have a paint gun and compressor now and I plan on using the flat or satin black paint over PPG primer sealer. At least for the first go round, might pay somone to give it a nice paint job later in life after I get the 347 stroker built for it. Dreams and more Dreams. First it's body work, and IFS.
