has set in. My chop top will not be driving at SlickStock. I set down today and figured out what I had to spend yet to get it up and driving and it is not in my toy budget. I might bring it down on a trailer but I wont be driving it. Really ruined my Day

Reality is that mine is so close but so far away from a 12 hour trip... the rest of this month is tied up and side jobs look like they will take up most of next month and I am not getting the quality time with "Eventually" that she needs. I am having a hard time looking at spending close to a grand for the trip if the truck isn't ready.... a grand in the truck would definitely get her going.... I will continue to push and I will know as the time grows closer..... might be needing some help getting the bumper back here from Ezer.... I am still trying to get her done to attend though....

Alan, just a lot of little things still need to be completed... need to make a trip to the yard to get small parts and don't have the time to go... It is looking like the second week of July before I MIGHT be able to make the time... A lot of work around the house through the summer months and I am not complaining, but it does take away from truck time... I will still be pushing as hard as I can and I WILL drive her for her first trip if I can have her done..... just a long first trip and I would rather have her on the road for a month at least first.... Still pushing though...

one of the reasons i keep a personal salvage yard is because i have the time.
a lot of people like you do not have the time and then at the yard you have to pull your own parts.
so why not forget about the time issue and tell me what the needed parts are.
so you have to pay some shipping , but the parts come clean in a box to your door or post office, you have spent no time or fuel and have not busted any knuckles. the parts are ready to install.
besides me, Tom @ flashback and Pete in Ga have a large amount of parts. i am sure others have stuff too that you may need.
call it a shameless plug but the more parts i sell the more it helps me reach the goal of attending slickstock.

Hey Darrell, I think your`ve had enough on your plate organizing Slick stock and all!, ( Oh god I`m starting to talk like a yank!) let alone trying to have a truck ready!,

May be setting in for us, too. I took this week off to work on the '57 and the Uni but it seems to be 1 step forward and 2 steps back.
Pulled all the wiring out of the '57 today and did start getting some back in. That's our top priority right now, I need it running to run around town without unhooking the car trailer all the time.
Was planning to get the motor together and in the uni but that isn't going to happen this week. Got a lot of stuff cleaned and ready to assemble but it's looking like this one isn't going to make it this year.
Tore up the race car Friday night, funeral visitation of a co-worker's daughter tomorrow evening and parts ordered for the '57 not here yet! It's all starting to stack up.
Still planning to be there with the '57 and not totally giving up on the uni but times running out.
SPark
