Didn't like the polished gauge bezel. It got smudges and fingerprints on it if you even pointed your finger at it. So I converted it to a machine-turned finish. Looks better and doesn't show fingerprints. Also makes the gauges look nicer.

Yeah, I made my own hillbilly engineering machine turning fixture. Hint: it involves a drill press and scotchbrite.

Wanted billet door sill plates. Too pricey for me at this point, so I went down to the local fabrication shop with some poster board templates and they made me a set for $50 total. Also I was concerned about slippery door steps and scratched up paint in the step area. A little grip tape solved this dilemna.

Redneck custom dash knobs! At least they match the paint scheme.

good call on the console. I did that in a 66 I had years ago. saved the dash, installed all the crap I wanted in the wood and then just used the AM radio screw hole in the dash to hold it all in place. take it out when I sold it...back to stock in 1 minute

Yep. There was a hacked radio hole in the dash when I got it. The PO had made a wooden block spacer because modern stereos are too deep. Welded up the hole for a nice smooth look and put it all in the console. Shifter is a modified late model mustang unit for AOD and an early mustang bezel. Cup holders are poker table stainless cup/chip holders. Vents are billet specialty for future A/C installation, and the stereo is a $100 Sony. I almost forgot a 12v socket for cell phone chargers etc. Added it last.

Ok, been awhile.

Engine compartment is nearly done. Having some pulley alignment problems, but nothing major. Yellow seems to be a theme here.

I fabbed my own throttle linkage using a modified original pedal The linkage rod has RH threads on one end and LH threads on the other. That wat I can turn the hex section with a wrench and lengthen or shorten the linkage as needed.Image

I moved the booster/master cylinder over to the clutch side to give me lots of room if I ever go big block.

Image

To make sure the brake pedal was close enough to the gas pedal, I modified and lengthened the brake pedal arm and made a wide footprint pedal with a late model pedal cover on it. The perspective of this photo, makes the brake pedal look real low, but it's not. It's about an inch lower than original. I had to ad the inch to make sure the foot wouldn't hit the column.

Nice work! When do you plan on having her on the road again? Yellow is one of my favorite colors, keep the theme going!
