Thanks for all the warm welcomes. And now for my first question. :hm:
I have a 1965 "Facts and Figures" manual for my truck, its a reprint, but I gotta think most of what is in there is accurate. Anyway, listed under the F250 section, it has the standard wheel size of 7x16, and then a whole bunch of optional sizes, including a 17 inch on up to a 19 1/2 inch wheel!

Has anyone ever heard of such a wheel, and if so had any luck trying to find a set? I have searched the web, and the only reference to it seems to be just the one in my manual at home. Its like they dont really exist.

I sure would like a set! :)

What's up Rhino?! Good to see you here as well. :thumright:

Are there any pics of the 19 1/2 wheels on a truck? I'd love to see what one looks like. Prolly not to many around because finding a tire to fit is gonna be impossible.

Hi John,
Nice to "see" you here.
Check this picture out of this '59. These, to me look much bigger than the 16's. I am assuming they are the optional, larger, wheels.

Okay..... I dont know how to post a picture here... :?

How about a link:

Plenty of choices of 19.5" tires. Trouble is they cost a mint being made fer commercial trucks and to last a billion miles under high load.

Wouldn't mind havin' some super singles on alcoa 19.5s fer the diesel.

ummm, yeah...

Not quite what I had in mind. :D

You know, I commited a sin and surfed on over to a very cool Dodge Power Wagon site (what can I say, it was my first truck) and being that they have the same axles our Fords have, maybe I can use some of there resources to find me a set of wheels. th_crafty.gif

Lets see how far I can get with this.

That is just WRONG Slickfan, lol. I have always thought the early 80s Flaresides were nice looking trucks, what a way to ruin one.
