question about floor pans

I plan on keeping the original floor mat in my truck. I have it out for the time being. The floor itself is in good shape, some surface rust here and there, but no holes. I am thinking about removing the rust, using some rustoleum paint over rust paint, after removing the loose stuff. I would like to apply something like duraliner over the painted floor, then putting the mat back in after it's cured well. Anyone got any comments on that method?
Also, got a few 1/4" or so holes in the floor bottom, I assume drain holes. nice even circular shape. Should I plug those, weld them up, or leave them be?

I'm thinking of doing the same. Any help would be much appreciated.

One of our newer members (
good2bea9) coated his floors with what you're describing, maybe he could help answer questions.
Here's one of his pics...

looks great. now that i have seen it, i think i like it. only thing that i plan to do differently is that the hump for the tranmission will be painted the same color as the truck. By the way, are those trap doors in the floors or what. that looks interesting

He lives un Yuma, the truck was purchased from an ex-drug smuggler.
I'm kidding.

It's a 4x4 truck, the battery goes in there.

I'm glad you didn't leave me with the drug smuggling comment. I would have bought it 100%.

I used Linex spray in liner and it is great. I sprayed from the upper firewall under the dash up behind the gas tank to included the kick panels. It looks great and is not rough on the skin when working under the dash. I did not fill in the holes but I still need to get replacement plugs for the holes. My total for that project was about $400.00 here in Yuma. Of course there is not much of a selection of places to do stuff here. Linex is great an I prefer it over Rhino. if you do this do not worry about the prep work as the Linex dealer will re-prep the areas anyways.
