Your close. If you need to take a break, finish up the kitchen and go back to the truck later.

My PerTronix arrived yesterday, but with the fence project over the week, I got doing that instead,
Worked on finishing the fence, and it rained (drizzled) the entire day. I am so chilled to the bone, garage is a mud mess and I need to clean up and put all my tools away before doing the F100. A former coworker from Yorktown dropped her dodge Dakota off, (I wasn’t home) and left note asking for AC fixed... she’s out of town till the first. Of course I did the job, but my driveway is packed and I really don’t need other peoples projects in my space right now. I wasn’t even gonna do the fence till the neighbor insisted he work on it this week. He isn’t done with his.

Having trouble with the computer, so iPad update.

I got the pertronix installed and started the truck right up! Need to do timing, put the hood on and drive!

That's exciting! You're so close! It looks like your valve is closed at the moment. If you have trouble seeing your timing marks I'd suggest setting your timing with a vacuum gauge. In my opinion it works better that just setting it by the number. Can't wait to see that you finally took it out!

I literally pulled the points system out of my distributor... I had distributedr out of the engine, #1 tdc and installed the new pertronix in the distributor and reset in engine, I yanked the external resistor, I followed the instructions provided with system. Made sure air gap was correct with provided plastic gap tool. Replaced coil with flame thrower coil and put new plug wires on.

It was probably the easiest thing I’ve done on this truck to be honest.

Glad to see your truck running. I'm also liking your m38 ,playing with jeeps is fun to. My flatfender is a 42 gpw. Are you going to start a m38 thread here or somewhere like the g503 forum.

Hey Miss April
I've been busy and off the site for a while and just got back on today. I always enjoy checking on your truck to see if you're driving it yet. You may have already fixed your horn but if not, you have too much gap between the steering wheel and the top of the column.

Closing that gap up so the horn contact touches the bottom of the steering wheel will more than likely fix your problem.

And by the way, I went to your youtube site and heard it run, sound great.

Congratulations April! I watched the video of your engine running and its sounds so sweet. (Wishing I'd kept my 223 now!) You have done an awesome job with the truck especially with all of the moving around you've done. I loose parts for my projects and I know I never left the shop with them! I have enjoyed following along while you saved another old truck. I wish I had posted more of my project but there's still plenty of time for me to improve on that.
Congratulations again and can't wait for the first ride video :D

Put the hood hinges on 90% last night. I had bought a rivet nut kit a while back cause one of my hinge bolt rivnuts came out long ago and I used a regular bolt in there’s.
So the rivnut won’t fit. The hole is too big and I’m not grinding and welding on my truck right now. So, when my friend comes over I will just have to climb in the cab and hold a wrench to the nut I three on there from inside the cowl. Bubba engineering.

Searched everywhere for my vacuum gage. Can’t find it. Went and found one on AmAzon with next day delivery. I did that instead of going to HF cause I would for sure spend more money otherwise.

Not much got done on the 63 this week. I did buy some powerstop front brake calipers, rotors and pads. I bought new stainless steel front brake hoses too. When I am driving the 13, after it’s warmed up driving a few miles, my brakes pulse. I drive 70 miles round trip 4x a week with that nonsense in crap traffic. I don’t want to get in a wreck. I just paid the 13 off!

Plan today to try and tune the carb on the 63 and put the hood on.

I also plan to bleed brakes on 13 and change out front brake system, then bleed brakes. It needs a full break fluid change.
