My 66 f100 project Sick Up

Well the time is getting near close to start on my 66. To fill everyone in on my truck, I had taken it to a local hot rod shop/so called friend of mine. And that ended up being a total joke and waste of my time and money. So after it sitting there for 3 months with hardly anything done to it (and me getting jerked off) I got it back! Even fought with him for another 3 weeks just to get my truck back in my own hands! :cussing: So after I blew off my steam and calmed down about that whole mess I am ready to start on it myself! Rather then go with my plan "A" with it getting a ground up resto....I am going with plan "B".... Now let me state that I am not going this route for speed or the most power! I have a mustang that I race for speed and power! So I dont really care how much power my build makes at this point.....

I am first starting with a rebuild of my 352 FE thats in the truck right now. I am going to port and polish the iron "R" (poor mans CJ) heads that are on it. I will have the bottom end redone with all new parts, ARP bolts and studs all around. I will also add a nice custom grind hyd. roller cam with roller lifters and rockers. I am also going with a Edelbrock Victor intake long tube headers, with MSD ignition and 4150 carb on top.

I am also, more then likely going to can the NP435 4 speed thats in it now and do a T-5/TKO600 swap behind the FE! So with all that I am gonna flip the rear end with a small C notch! UPDATE: I am going to go ahead and do either a Mustang 2 or CV front end! after thinking about it, I would be wasting time and money trying to make drop beams work.

As for paint paint and body work, that will be last on the list! But for now its gonna stay in its current state! Unless I can scrape up some extra money for a little paint and body work.......

Well my project is finally kicking off! And is going under the knife tomorrow! Plus I have also been collecting a few parts here and there for the build! I scored on this DOVE single plane intake! The intake will serve nicely with my EFI set up and turbo! And I also scored on a nice 88mm turbo as well as nice new chrome cluster for my resto. I am going to go ahead and do either a Mustang 2 or CV front end! after thinking about it, I would be wasting time and money trying to make drop beams work. More pics and info to follow soon!

I picked up my CV front(s) ( I got 3 extra complete front clips that I will sell if anyone is interested? ) end yesterday! I am looking forward to getting it on my truck! I'll have some pics up later today!

Can someone fill me in on what you or other people who have done this swap. What the center line is?

Thanks!

Hey, a fellow Denverite with a '66! I like the truck, sounds like a great project.

Little change of plans from the first post, huh? EFI/turbo should be fun!

BTW, it looks like you removed the toolbox. I was actually thinking of ADDING one to my '66, but I may be crazy.

Good luck with your project!

Hello Mike! Nice to see another Colorado member! Eh, a turbo(s) have always been in the plan! I figured it would be a good time as any to get it goin.

I honestly wished I would have left the toolbox in the bed. :(

Well I was able to get a couple more parts pulled off one of my donor Crown Vics today! I pulled the rear and and drive shaft before sending it to the shredder! I was also able to get mostly moved into my new 4000 sq ft shop as well! So I should be able to get started on it in the next week or so!
