Slick 60's

Used PFM's write-up on the power window conversion using the factory regulators and saturn power windows. Then did a few tweaks of my own to come up with this:

Rotating the factory handle (or vicegrips ) up or down makes the window go up and down. Still needs some final adjustment but it works!

Haha be my guest, the motor is easy (bolt in almost if you do it Kid's way) Its the crank/switch that gets tricky

I've read PFM's write up -- can you give the link to Kid's?

I've seen where some company sells switches that replace the crank -- how'd you do yours?

If you use the Saturn motors there's no room for the crank switch. I found a way to mount a toggle switch and then made an arm attached to the crank trigger it. But to do that the motors have to be moved slightly

That's sweet Dave! Are you gonna do a write up on that? I was just reading Chris's tech article using the Saturn motor and was thinking i wanted to be able to use something similar to what you just did, then flipped to truck talk and saw your post...a tech article would be sweet!

When I build the driver side I may do a write up but I wanna be able to test it for a month or two to make sure it works perfectly before I do that

Hahah that means ill have to take measurements if i make a write up, all the dimensions on that were either eyeballed or done on the fly. But ill write em down for the driver side when i do it

some close up photos of the bracket might also help/work. viedo is good but can't zoom like a picture.

I did some research on those motors and the same motor is used in several GM cars and trucks, including 1500's...they are just about everywhere

One thing to note. I have also found other motors that are the same but had a differnt gear on them. Something to check when sourcing from other vehicles. I agree they were used in lots of vehicles.

Good call Chris! All I did was cross reference the part number with other vehicles....are those gears removable?

Good to know. I don't think they are but I didn't try to take the gear off so I'm not sure

Mine came out of a Cadillac. I took the rear window motors cuz they have less wear..
