What type of paint(urthane,enamel,laquer) did Ford originally paint slicks?

thank you, trying to decide what type to use on her, I like the original depth to the color, just not sure yet, besides I have alot of time before she's ready to paint.

Have you seen plastidipmycar.com? Since I don't know what I want for a color scheme, I'm gonna try it because of it being relatively cheap, easy to apply and get rid of.

Yes, That's the correct url...dipyourcar.com. Memory no good no mo.
Looks like for around $300 and some effort you can try something and then just PEEL IT OFF if you don't like it. When you get where you want to go, you can save up for the big buck enamel job of your dreams.
It also looks to be a great preservative as well.
