Not Slick60s related, but man, how cool. In-car footage of a lap around LeMans in a Ford GT40. Love that engine sound.

Some cool stuff on there. The Gulf GT40s are one of my all time favorite race cars.

I will never EVER get tired of that video Alan, I can not BELIEVE the caliber of the drivers to go so fast so close in so many different kinds of cars.. AND, as always I am blown away by the speed that white MINI was carrying .. the one he passes half way up the hill, that things had some guts....

Those mini cooper S`s won Bathurst in 1966 ( what a year ! ) , they called them the racing bricks.........I think that was the second lap that he passed him, hang on I`ll go back and watch it again!!!!! 8)

that Mini is like a freaking powerhouse... The Ford had to work to get around him uphill ! amazing.

Yep second lap, how about the yellow Charger passing the EH Holden after the first bend, there must have been some paint shared there! :lol:

one more lap and he would have won that by a mile.................. 8)

I keep thinking that charger was a duster... thats the car it looks like here from the 70's

it was made by Chrysler in the early 70`s, biggish V8 with a 3 speed box and a cardboard diff, the Police used them as pursuit cars them and Mini coopers and the Holden GTR Toranas............

Imagine running Le Mans like that, flat out, with all those other cars, for 4 hours straight, then doing your night shift too.
Remember also that was 1968 tire technology too.
Real racing, if it rained, you pulled in they put on rain tires and you went right back out.
