1961 F-250 Styleside/Flatside tailgate latch color?

I'm about ready to repaint the tailgate and tailgate latches, and need to know what color the latches should be.

I currently have them painted black, which I'm pretty sure is the wrong color.

In my research/searches I've seen them in Body Color or Silver (Argent?). Are either of those colors correct?
