Picked up a side project

Post by ThinLizzy13 »

My dad gave me this old engine he had sitting in his concrete equipment warehouse

He said it's been there since his dad ran the business. I haven't had a chance to really mess with it but it has compression. I'm hoping to get it running maybe someday make a little go kart or log splitter or something.

There's no plate on it or anything so idk for sure what it is. I'm thinking it's an old Wisconsin? Anyone here have any idea?

Yep
Wisconson
One of the best small engines built in my opinion
If you can get spark ( usally just need to clean points)
It will run.....
A log splitter wood be a good home
Gokart.... Not so much... They are more of an industrial motor

Yep, definitely a red, air cooled, single cylinder engine. If you need any more expert advice just ask!
HAHAHAHA, just kidding!

Well that's good to know. I've heard good stuff about wisconsins I just had never seen one before. A log splitter would be much more useful than a go kart

Old thread, but I just wanted to say I finally got this thing running. Needed a new coil and a carb rebuild. Zenith carbs/kits were a little too pricey for me. FYI a carb for a Koehler K81 engine can work on this style Wisconsin. Picked one up for $14 from China :thumright:
Damn thing runs like a top too. Not too shabby for not having run since before I was born lol.
