Upgrades to RUBY...

Post by CM Sackett »

Been working on getting both trucks finished out. The little DX shop truck will stay a "sleeper" (as we called them, way back when) in the body dept. for a year or two more. But both are getting brand new interiors, and other upgrades (per the final 'look' design for each truck).

Ruby's new seats and door panels are done, and ready for install...

We're also grafting these into the hood (Dad did one like this, back in '68...).

The DX shop truck has an OEM '69 Mach 1 scoop mounted... the turn signals will be wired within a few days.

Love the Ostrich skin inserts on the seats and door panels!

Can I ask where you got the continuous piece of aluminum trim on the custom cab door insert? At least it appears to be one piece.

Thanks,
Corey

Afternoon Corey,

Vent is the chrome door edge trim that you can buy at Autozone or O'Reilly's... comes in a roll. Three layers of 3m double-sided trim tape (the foam rubber kind) works beautifully for applying the panels, since the trim clips become a non-option. Just lay each layer in the recessed area of the trim panel that runs along the outside edge ( that's why you need three layers), but it does work flawlessly.

I do have two complete sets of the factory chrome trim ,in pretty good shape, but I wanted flawless.
