Hey Guys,

For the fourth consecutive year, the Simeone Museum is honored to be the venue for Bonhams "Preserving the Automobile" auction. We are thrilled to be a part of anything that helps preserve classic automobiles, parts, literature, memorabilia, and so on. Here are a few snaps that I thought you boys might get a kick out of…

Okay, I know that this isn't a Ford. But, this Studebaker was just too sweet to pass up…

Finally, one of the auto transporters had a great message painted on the side of his trailer. I couldn't agree more…

I'll probably have more photos over the next couple of days.

Okay, so here's the final update on the auction…

The Studebaker that I liked sold for $90,000.

The 1955 Lincoln Capri Convertible sold for $50,000.

Image

The 1956 Mercury Montclair Convertible Coupe sold for $61,000.

Image

The 1964 Ford Falcon Ranchero Coupe Utility (that I should have bid on, Grrrrr) sold for ONLY $6,800.

Wayne Carini sold three cars for a friend at the auction and they also filmed an episode for Chasing Classic Cars.

Thanks for posting that.
the Studebaker is almost exactly like the one i had. If I could turn my foot around backwards i would be kicking my self for swapping it off.

Hey Bill, thanks for posting all the cool pics. When I was in grade school
and Jr high my Mom drove a Merc Montclair two door hardtop complete with
a continental on the back like on the red and white drop top. And she also had
a Lincoln Capri two door hardtop exactly the same color as that one. Talk about
bringing back some old memories. Thanks again Bro! TR

Great pics, reminds me of riding around in a silver hawk back in the day and all the cars that are now worth an absolute mint that we used as our knock around cars.
Could have done without Carini as I am not fond of him or his show, but then again most of the new auto shows tend to rub me the wrong way. Guess I am getting old.
