Turk eye candy update

Post by unibody madness »

Spoke with Brian yesterday (Iceman) and realized it had been awhile since I had posted anything about the build.
I know I need to update the build thread but I will have to get a new word program since I got a new computer and windows ten will not let me install the program I already have for xp. (really p***es me off).

Anyway since there is always something to be done, I can not say its finished, but it is close. You will have to make due with these for now

I'm curious about the gas cap too. Are there details available?

Thanks to you guys, it has helped to keep my sanity since 2009
I will be updating my build date at some point, but here is a quick pick of the filler neck under the bed rail, I just cut out the sheet metal and traced it to the new location then swapped the pieces:

I like the idea, it looks right to me. What gas tank did you use?

I used a gas tank out of an Izusu Trooper, welded up a 1" square tubing frame,an additional 1"spacer for above, and bolted it through the frame.
I then modified the skid pan that came with it and bolted it up as well. I had to notch the top part of the frame for the fill tube, but stiffened it up with a piece of round tubing

Again thanks for the interest and comments

Thanks Ezer,
I do as well. It was a toss up between those, a set of chrome steelies by Cragar I got a deal on, or some some wheel vintiques with chrome trim. they all look great on these trucks.

I did the first shake down run from Vallejo to Paradise Ca. everything went swell, oil pressure, temp gauge, and amp gauge all behaved, 140 miles on the yblock clickin along. About mile 90 however the steering started acting a bit loose but made it to my destination. This morning on the rack at Big O, they found steering box bolts loose, and missing one, they apparently were too short and the nylon nut did not hold. since I had the front end aligned and tourqed at a sister store, they went to ace, bought new bolts, re- torqued, inspected the entire front end and gave me the thumbs up.
