I joined Facebook. I have only been using it for about a week. I am not sure if I like it, yet, or not. It is kind of like removing all the locks from your doors and advertising that you don't own a gun. If you have never used Facebook, imagine that, every day, you go out to your mailbox and find it stuffed with Hallmark greeting cards, political cartoons, and requests to join pyramid schemes.
I liked this group while I was in it; at least before it became racist. And am thinking of returning. But I am not sure. Plus, I don't know if you all are ready or willing to have me back.
I still have the '65 longbed styleside with the straight 6, bored out to a 247.
And I still have the coyote.
And I am still the same old cantankerous troublemaker I was before.

How do you figure this group is racist? I almost choked when I read that.

Please don't misunderstand me. I enjoyed being in this group for the 10 years I was here. I enjoyed all the help fixing my slick. I enjoyed the banter between all the members. I enjoyed most of the pics. But, during the last few months of that time, I noticed a certain hostility in the posts; a certain defensiveness from a very few members. It culminated in a thread that I initiated and that was allowed to go too far.
About 8 months after I left, I needed some information about my slick, and, remembering a certain thread discussing what I needed, I looked up this site. I first noticed that the thread was missing (My own fault). But while I was checking around, I noticed that the "bad apples" did not post again after attacking me. And then I felt guilty about using this site all those years and then leaving without giving a reason. I thought "Why did I let a couple of racists get the better of me. Could I have been that thinskinned?"
So, after a discussion with one of the moderators at another location, I decided that, if I could remember my password, I would again visit this forum.
Today, after about 800 tries, I remembered my password. So hello everybody. I hope I wasn't too much trouble the last time. And I'll try to do better this time around.
But probably not.

hey Doc
glad to see you on the forum again

not sure about the race card comment, ive met a lot of members over the phone and in person and never got that picture
easy to sit behind a keyboard, stir up $hit with a comment and then never return, lots of that happens online

frankly i dont give a rats behind if your martian, klingon, vulcan or green with purple stripes, none of that matters in here.

Welcome back Doc. Sometimes we tend to post things without thinking the consequences all the way thru. Computers can be problematic as well as handy. This site is way nicer than most on the WWW. Stay and enjoy,
SPark

New to facebook? Welcome to 2005!

I'm a relative newcomer as well. My truck is in pieces. Hope to remedy that when a large box arrives from Summit Racing.

WTF? Mark Zuckerberg And The The Left-Leaning Social Engineers At Facebook Probably Consider It "Racist" To Be A White Male & Drive A Pick-Up Truck. If Somebody Posted A Picture Of Their Truck With A Gun-Rack In The Back Window They Would Probably Get Banned!

Sorry, but some of you have the wrong Doc. In 2008, my slick was recently out of the rebuild shop and had no bed on it. I drove it that way for about a year while I worked on the bed, which kept falling under water every time it rained, because I inadvertently located it in the lowest part of he backyard.
I actually have a self-pic in Facebook, for those who aren't sure which Doc they are welcoming back. The coyote is the one in my lap.
Since some of you have the wrong Doc, does that mean your welcome doesn't count?

(the other) Doc
