Cab support

Well dang- I put in the passenger floor yesterday after banging away at the support looking for rust. Did t find any. Finished the floor and felt confident that was the worst. It appeared worse than the driver side.
This morning I opened up the floor to the driver side support bracket and cleaned it up. Got in there with a wire brush and didn't see any rust thru. Took my pointy hammer and started lightly tapping and found this stuff. The arrows are pointing to the rust holes. I could probably drill them a bit larger and plug them.

The piece of metal against the plenum (cab air vent area) is rusted. A piece chilled out. That is the bottom portion of the photo.

Replace the support or plug weld the holes? I did t find any more rust- (yet).

Well solution to the issue first is seeing how bad the rust is. I will wheel the cab outside and sandblast the supports to see how bad it is. That I guess will tell me if I gotta replace. I am on a run to look at parts in philly now. Will be back later around 5pm

I decided to just hack it off and put the new one on. Like Iceman said... I was already down there, and its easier to do now instead of later.

This is what I found.
