'65 Custom Cab instruments into a '63?

Post by leftfootbraker »

I'm thinking about installing a '65 CC instrument cluster, with the sweep style speedometer, into my '63 Uni.

I'm hoping the speedo cable, oil pressure sender and alternator sender will work as-is.
And I'm also hoping the dash and blinker lights will just plug into the holes in the '65 cluster.

Can you comment on any issues I will encounter in this switch?

Thanks, Steve

Believe there is a jumper for the trun signal indicator.
CC uses one indicator for both and standard cab used two.
As long as you're replacing gauges with gauges and idiot lights with lights, yes it should work.
It would be easier with the correct harness for the panel you are using.

He is correct about the jumper as the 65 uses one light to indicate left or right turn. The earlier dash bezel was used into the later years so I think it should work for you, although like was mentioned wiring may be different enough to keep it from working.
