Newbie question

New to slicks and forum. I just got a '64 long bed. I want to relocate fuel tank, but would rather have fuel filler in bedside as I plan to use it as a truck. Suggestions?

So I'm understanding you want to get the fuel tank out of the cab but don't want it to interfere with using the bed. Mustang tank under the bed and put the filler in the bed floor or run it up against the inside. I've seen several in different locations that looked like wouldn't cause any issues with utilizing the whole bed.

Some have taken the stock tank put it in bed at back of cab..... but i think you have to reverse it so filler is on passenger side

That's the way mine is currently set up. Was already done when I bought it.

Someone on here a while back did what I consider to be the best tank relocation....he used an actual filler door in the driver side of the bed quarter panel he used a 78 filler door If I remember right. so its like a modern truck....I intend to do just that with my 64 f100 lwb..personally...if it were me...I would put the filler door in the bed quarter panel...makes life easier at the pumps :2cents:

Here is a link to my photo bucket file on my Isuzu trooper tank swap, it shows all the mods needed to side fill my unibody:

PFM I would love to see the bronco II tank swap in detail for my next project to see if is a quicker swap given I am a slow fabricator, although I do like the Isuzo set up and tank rock shield!
