doing some crushing here, saw a Big Window at the crusher

Post by 6166 Junkyard Dog »

we have taken several to the crusher ,, these trucks where pretty well stripped down and saved the hard core parts,, ANYWAY While I was unloading 2 on Thursday one of the employees taps on the shoulder and said turn around since I was taking all the straps off and what was sitting there, A BIG WINDOW UNI-BODY SHORT BED.. It was rough very rough,, This was a high end truck with the chrome trim, too bad it was missing the bed trim and cowl, BUT It was Factory 292 WITH POWER STEERING.. I was able to get the rear glass , s/s trim and the steering parts off the engine side with the separate reservoir,, since the truck was way in the dirt could not get the other parts off the truck itself, will see if still there next week , but doubt it

Pat I actually have a 1959 custom cab out of Calif. that has the power steering on it but missing the engine parts,, the steering comes off the pitman arm that has a cylinder and then another cylinder by the drag link that also attaches to the I-Beam
