Procrastination

Post by slick4x4 »

Anybody put things off till the last minute ?

Going to try to drop an engine & tranny in the F350 today ....
Ordered a floor mat from LMC yesterday ....
Took my seat to the upholstery guy this morning
Taking the bed off today to repair it s-o-m-e
Gotta get the bumpers back on....
Put the gas tank back in yesterday

Then lots of little do-hickeys to hook up

Will the F350 make it to KC ? :dontknow:

Yep. Mailed off my sales tax payment to the Dept. of Revenue yesterday. It was due last month, they give you an extra month to get it done. I figured I better do it yesterday since I'll be out of town Monday and Tuesday and Tuesday is the FINAL deadline.

As long as it gets postmarked before the 31st I'm good.

It was supposed to get started & move today... didn't happen
The 2 piece driveshaft was disassembled in half and put in the bed and forgotten
20 years outside in the elements gave the internal & external splines a nice
Coating of rust ...... worked 3 hours to get them to slip properly

Carrier bearing replaced ... 3 new ujoints tomorow
Really eager to hear that lil 223 purr back to life

Tune in tomorow folks .... same pat time. ... same pat channel

Hey Pat,
When I drove to Salina for SlickStock I got on Hywa.56 south of Lawerence. Was the best drive I've had
No traffic,smooth blacktop,and lots of little towns.Averaged around 50 mph,my 350 has a 4:88 gear in it......just a FYI for you.....really enjoyed not being on I-70...

My money's on you driving that 350......

I plan on staying off of interstate
The trailer needs to get back to KC
Curious how the 223 will like that
If I can pull it 50-55 mph I'm golden

Started the engine
Doesn't want to run smooth unless the choke is pulled out a smidgen...
I'm running a little marvel oil in gas... it might get better
If not I will tear into it
Exhaust all tight & new glass pack
Got the new speedo cable hooked up
Jacked up the rear & kicked into gear
New oil in trans & differential .... smooth as glass @ 30 in 4th
Floormat in ... picking up seat & rebuilt generator tomorow

Friday night, shut the party down at 1:30 am...
Saturday night, shut the party down at 2:00 am...
Sunday family reunion dinner ....

Went out at 5:00 (I was dragging pretty hard)

Hood on ...
Front bumper on...
Valve cover leak repaired ...

Took it down to Gypsum & back ...
9 mile drive .. ran fair (carb needs work)
Steers good , brakes seem pretty good , shifts fine

Speedometer is off 10% slow
(shows 45mph , when I'm actually going 50mph)

50 mph seems like a decent cruising speed

On the yucky note .... as good as I cleaned..
There was plenty of mouse $hite flying out of the headliner
And a bunch of "something" flying out of heater
