Re: Defroster hose size needed
I had the same issue on my 65, I guess there the same size , I ended up buying 2" first then when that didn't fit , 2 1/2" then attached it to the part of the original hose with duct tape , not the best but it worked and is still holding up. I couldn't find any hoses make for our trucks. Tom

Re: Defroster hose size needed
I bought a hose kit from old air products off of Amazon. it is plastic, but works and fits perfect. (Plastic duct hose, 2-1/2" ID, 6' long #91-53P) I believe it was about $20.
Hope this helps.

Re: Defroster hose size needed
Thanks. I measured 2 1/4", but I thought it must be wrong because I couldn't find anywhere that had that size. Guess I'll have to make the 2 1/2" stuff work..

Update: I've found that rockauto does carry the correct size and ordered some

Re: Defroster hose size needed
One time when I took my heater out to clean it up
The vent hoses were very brittle... but complete
They weren't very flexible either
So.....
I took a can of black spray paint
And gave them a good thick coat
Inside and outside ....
Sat them in front of a fan to speed up drying
When they got tacky dry enough to handle
But not completely set up
I nstalled them back up carefully
They were just soft enough to get a tiny bit of paint on my fingers
The next day they were. Hard as a rock solid and strong
3 years later & still perfect
