66 F-350

Post by 6166 Junkyard Dog »

sometimes you might by a real nice parts truck, but then get the ones you wish where still there, But this one we got the other day looked real rough until I picked it up and, yes it was not one of our best trucks, one thing it does have is F-350 with 9' Bed, 1 ton, 16" 6 lug Tubeless Rims on the truck so now we can get away from those widow makers on our 1 Ton Mercury

What size 16" tires does it have on it ?
I would think they would be pretty tall ....
The 17" on mine are about 35" inches in height

Tom,
Is that a parts truck, might be interested in the fenders and a four spoke steering wheel if it has one...

Pat the Merc has 7.50 x 17 spilt rims and truck brought in is 7.50x 16 tubeless , so is a difference, don't know if can get a tall tire in the 16"

Dan it's a parts truck, steering wheel is cracked,, front fenders will pull to see how good they look, outsides look good, but will check on inside, truck is missing inner fenders lot of rust in cab

in the 64/72 book it shows a 17.5 rim and 19.5 rim 6 lug with 7.25 bolt pattern, looked back in the 57/63 book and shows the same, Hollander interchange says the same thing also now ? where did 16" tubeless wheels came from on this truck ? if not showing in the Ford Books. Is it off a Dodge Truck, or where the made long time ago from a aftermarket wheel company they made them years ago and not showing in any books ? The 17.5's and 19.5's all shows with a B6 number, went outside again they are tubeless 16" 6 lug and on a 66 F-350 maybe might be a ID # on wheels when we get them dismounted

Tom
Look in your book & see if a tubeless tire was available
For a 1961 F600 ...... 22.5
Ive got an old power-company truck
And it has a set ... look factory (haven't checked for stampings)

I have a 63 F-600 with 22.5 tubeless on the front. Haven't checked for any stamping either.

Pat my 66 F-600 has 22.5 wheels on it all the way around it,, ++ it has that 97 shuttle bus rear end with disc. on back and under it 3.73 gear ratio,, the 65 F-500 we brought in had 22.5's on it as well I will look in the book later and see what kind of part # it has

Here's several threads from another channel that talk about F350 rims, etc.........

**Post #99 mentions the 6x7.25 rims were also used on Dodge, IHC, and Studebaker

There is a YouTube video of a 65 F-350 dually owner swapping to 8 lugs but keeping the 65 straight axle. His dad? made bushings to make the smaller 65 king pin work in the latter spindle. I didn't find it.

Pat on the 22.5 wheels 6" wide, I saw 57-62 was one part and 63-66 was another part #, then on 22.5 wheels 6.75" wide was 57-62 and then 63-66 was another part #
